Taxotere (docetaxel) is a chemotherapy drug, used to treat cancer. It is one of the most commonly used chemotherapy drugs for breast cancer, and it is also used for other types of cancer. Like other chemotherapy drugs, Taxotere can cause severe side effects, including vomiting, joint or muscle pain, and compromised immune system. The side effects are usually, but not always, temporary. Taxotere causes permanent hair loss in some patients.

What is Taxotere?

Taxotere is an anti-cancer chemotherapy drug, also referred to as an antineoplastic or cytotoxic chemotherapy drug. It is in a class of drugs, called taxanes, which interfere with the ability of cancer cells to divide. Taxanes are plant alkaloids made from the bark of the Pacific Yew tree (taxus).
